It's a Circus

I am trying to be super-on-top of things now that I am thisclose to having a second child. On the docket tonight: reorganize all of my craft stuff. Boo. It sounds more fun to post pictures instead.

On the right is Cassi, a wonderful friend of mine.  In October we went shopping for clothes for her (I love helping other people spend their money) and she told me that she was pregnant when I inspected a skirt she was trying on.  She thought it was soooo obvious (it wasn't).  We spent the winter commiserating about pregnancy and I really thought that we were pregnant "together," you know?  But, she's now had her baby for 5 weeks and I still have two and a half to go!  Aaaaanyway, she didn't want a baby shower, so a very small group of us barged in on her and her family (a surprise to her, but her husband was in on it) and brought treats, put up decorations, and celebrated the arrival of her sweet babe.
For Matt's and my anniversary we took Tate to the circus (we celebrated a little more later).  He was enamored, especially with the elephants and the 4 motorcycles in that cage thing.
I love that my kid destroys my couch cushions, snuggles in, and reads to himself.  Kickin it old school.
And then my sweet friends threw me a darling baby shower, of which I have no pictures except for this.  When I get more, I will post them.  This was after most people had left and I realized I had my camera!  If you think I look enormous there, you should see me now (but if you don't live in Rochester, you won't.)
And finally, Matt and I celebrated 7 years together for real by going up to Minneapolis for the weekend.  Well, first, Matt had arranged a very happy surprise for me -- an hour long pre-natal massage!  And then...we hit Ikea, THAI FOOD, a candy store, a fun hotel, the Avengers, the best breakfast ever (aside from Bongo Room in Chicago), and the Minneapolis temple.  Matt is the cat's pajamas...even if he totally missed his May 20th deadline for the dresser.  In my charity, I extended to June 1st.  He'll miss that one, too.  Also in my charity, I didn't make us buy one at said trip to Ikea.  I'm so nice.

And the sweetest surprise shower it was! Can't wait for your little one to get here!!
P.S. Avery made me click on the circus pic of Tate a million times and she would exclaim "ooo!" each time.

I had a similar struggle with Nathan about a crib. Once at IKEA he was bashing on the cribs there and he said, "I could make one of those" which I have no doubt that he could but he doesn't have the time to make one. We ended up buying one, but not from IKEA. I'd say though that the IKEA dressers are way nicer than the cribs, having had one on my mission. I love IKEA! We go there for dates too and Nathan tells me what all the Swedish words mean and how they quite often have nothing to do with the furniture they are connected to.
