Us Lately

1. Matt: Has a May 20th deadline to build a dresser for Tate (imposed by me) or else I go to Ikea. Right now, I'm planning a trip to Ikea in a few weeks, but he could surprise me. Note that Matt is the one who wants to build this dresser. I want Tate's room to be finished before we have a second child. Matt works a lot and then comes home and is a rock star dad. Tate calls Matt "Matt" quite often and loves to weed with him outside.  Matt relishes in having a yard and loves to mow the lawn.  He also really loves having his own garage to put all his tools in.

2. Me: I am 33 weeks pregnant. And that about sums it up.

Okay, okay. Getting anxious about this baby girl, mostly because I remember very little about babies. Maybe it's like riding a bike? I taught my last cardio classes this week (HOORAY!) and will continue to teach strength classes until the end of May. Honestly, I feel pretty fine and could totally teach cardio this week if I needed to, but I'm happy to have the pressure off. And Tate calls me "honey."

 3. Tate: Has us wrapped around his finger because he is really funny. Any little person in his books is immediately renamed to Tate Tot (btw - I'm pretty sure Tate thinks his real name is Tate Tot because when you ask him his name he says "Gardner Tate Tot. I'm two."
Please take note of foot art below.  He was on Matt's watch when this happened.
I put some dried beans and colored noodles in a container. He begs for this thing and can play happily with it for 30 + minutes.  I recommend it.
Tate and Avery at our very small zoo.  I drove them both and they were having a little two-year old conversation in the back.  Cuties.
It's a good thing he's cute...because this is what consumes a lot of time these days...
Yes, indeed, potty training.  It's actually going pretty well.  He probably has 3 - 6 accidents per week, but he really is getting the hang of it with minimal "rewarding."  I am finding myself having more and more patience with him, since I realized that - at not even two and a half - he doesn't mess his pants to spite me.  We do spend a lot of time reading in the bathroom (less and less every week, though), and we have quite a library going on in the bathrooms.

That's us.

Now that is a good summation. I look forward to hearing about your trip to Ikea. And oh goodness me - Tate is so dang cute - it's a little ridiculous.
