It's no secret that I love Chicago with all of my little heart. Yes, I would even happily tolerate the winters to return to my life of walking, restaurants, cabs and sirens, shops, and 10% sales tax. But. I don't live there anymore, so we joined the ranks of tourists for Memorial Day weekend where we visited especially touristy spots such as the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Aquarium. ...and we saw our most wonderful friends and ate very, very well.

We stayed with Tyson and Kelli (thanks again, guys) and we put ourselves through "boot camp" a couple of the mornings. Tate and Alpha stretch it out with Tyson:

While we waited in a pretty long
Xoco line (hint -- order to go and your wait will be significantly shorter), T and I took a walk to the fire station and they let him climb up in the truck. This baby boy was in hea-ven.

What trip to Chicago would be complete without a visit to Beth and Derek and Tate's future wife? Piper and Tate are just way too cute.

We did lots more that wasn't documented, unfortunately. I got together with co-workers (love you girls!), friends from church, we shopped, and generally enjoyed being in the land of milk and honey.
Guess what we taught Tate?
Us: "Tate, where were you born?"
Tate: " 'cago."
Yes, indeed, baby.

Hey! Tate is on the shortlist as a name for Baby Boy Howe #3. Maybe we'll name him Tate Gardner Howe in honor of you guys.
Or Tate Matthew Howe.
Or Tate Alyssa Howe, for that matter.
We'll keep you posted.
Here are some other Xoco hints: Go between 10am and 11:30am or 3 and 5pm. 30 minute line or less. Also, never go in a group greater than 4.
Max reads a book about chicago every night and asks to read cago. They talk/think alike.
