Artsy Fartsy

We sort of take pride in the fact that we like to be "cultured" -- whatever that means. With departure from this awesome city looming over our heads, Matt and I are being super tourists in our own city! We recently went to the Hirshorn Museum, a modern art museum on the mall. Here is us participating in a piece:

We also went to the Pope-Leighy house about 15 minutes away from us. Frank Lloyd Wright designed this teeny home in an effort to create the ideal 1940s home. While I would call this home far less than ideal, it was certainly awesome. There is one particularly small doorway in which our tour guide told us many touring people get stuck! This is the view from the back. I won't go into all the features, but Wright did not leave any detail untouched. We had such a wonderful afternoon!

One great thing to look forward to about moving to Chicago... the proximity to Oak Park and all the wonders of Frank Lloyd Wright. We just toured his home and did the walking tour last summer - my love for his creations has grown so much!
