Pledge My Ride

Our good friend, Tyson, is planning a bike trip around Lake Michigan that Matt will *probably* be joining him on (he'll join him assuming we don't move to Singapore or something). This 800 or so mile trip will raise funds for another good friend, Sarah's, classroom in Chicago's west side. While I do teach "inner-city," Sarah is the one really working in the trenches and her classroom could use any additional funding for educational technology basics. Please have a look at Tyson's blog about the training for his ride, as well as Sarah's classroom.

PS. Okay, one more thing: I am in UT right now, visiting my sister and new baby niece. We were walking in a parking lot, when I noticed a maroon mini-van with a bumper sticker depicting a bleeding heart and these words: "Twilight Mom - Bite me." I couldn't contain my disgust and so I wrote her a list of literary works that are far more worthy of her adult mind and stuck it on her windshield, under the wipers. Well, okay. The last part isn't true, but that's what I'm really wishing I did. Why do I never think of these genius ideas at the right time?

PPS. I am wearing maternity pants right now. Oh, man.

Had you done that last thing, you would have been my hero! Glad I'm not the only one who still resists :)

So happy to hear about your baby! Congrats!

Love Kristen (2100)

Thanks for making me laugh out loud on the last two counts. That sticker is totally overboard. And maternity clothes... ah. What can you say. And then you go for maternity swimsuits. Even cooler. Can't wait to see you next week. :)

And I just have to say--I think women look their most stunningly beautiful when they're pregnant and the bump really turns into a belly. No matter what their shape or size or extra "maternal fat stores" that come with the package. It's just beautiful. I'm sure you're just gorgeous in those maternity pants of yours. And at least today we have some really cute maternity clothes options. (Heck, most of them are in the normal womens' section these days). Our mothers could not say the same thing. :)
