My Wild and Precious

A. has been gone for a little while (not from the M&A, but from Chicago), so in her absence, let me revisit a quote from recent post:
"I would like to get married to a woman who is not a snob, who is kind and has small faults, who is a person who likes doing the things I stated in the preceding paragraph and who likes clothes. That would make her perfect. She would be the 'precious' in 'one wild and precious life.'"
Let's just say that I wish that I wrote that, because it is nothing but true about A., dead on. Except for the preceding paragraph, which in her post refers to lambs being treated like a dog—which I doubt A. would stand for, sheepish as she can be on those rare occasions.

Yes, A. is kind. She is an amazing teacher who suffers long hours with some pretty amazing—take that how you will—essays, and papers, powerpoints, simulations, parents, etc. She deals with it all so well, and so selflessly. While she does heap quiet laudation from parents and those she works with, what is even more outstanding is that her students love, love her. While she might tell them to their faces to sit down and shut up—or something nicer probably—she works hard hours to help them learn and enjoy it.

Yes, A. does like clothes. Why this student thinks this is admirable is beyond me. But I tell you what—she has class and sass (mostly the former)—hanging all over her wardrobe. It is really nice to be with someone who dresses smart, and who knows how to do it without spending a fortune. You know, she just found a maternity dress, which I am sure will flatter that baby bump, that was originally $88 for only $15? That's my girl.

A. is most definitely not a snob. She is down to earth, and loved by pretty much everyone she knows. She lives for people, to love them, to serve them, to give to them, to be with them. I am sure you all know this far better than I, as you like her enough to follow her—our (that's what's the M is for in M&A)—blog.

And yes, she does have small faults. That is the very best part about her. I will forego elaborating because your favorite faults might be different than mine

She is precious. Both my precious and my wild. And I can't wait to see her in those maternity pants. Oh, man.

I remember talking to you after you broke up with a girl because you couldn't find a reason to "adore her."

I'm glad you found such an adorable woman.
