Isn't this beautiful? It is, I know. We just got back from the annual vacation to the Outer Banks and I remembered why I love this place so much!

This is the first time we've had little people at the beach. Doesn't this picture make you want to be a kid again -- you have absolutely no cares in the world. You certainly don't care that you have a ton of sand in your swimsuit. Those were the days.

The BEST part of our vacation was our Family Olympics. We were there the of the Opening Ceremonies in Beijing, so I decided we should do our own Olympics on the beach. It was hilarious! Below is Matt's sand-sculptured Olympic rings.

We paraded around our Olympic torch pyramid. This is Dad leading his fearless team (you can only imagine the faces of others on the beach as we sung the Olympics theme song. They were totally jealous, of course.).

Events included yoga balancing, running in the water (pictured below), a relay race, a handstand contest, and paddle ball. We had a great time!

The Olympians

The whole crew (after we were showered).

And now, after my favorite vacation, I have to go back to school. Everyone cry for me.

What a fun trip--family olympics! And the Thomas's were there? Do you still keep in contact with their entire family? What about the Stay's or the Fujikawa's?
Looks like so much fun, I love the idea of the family games.
That is hysterical! Way to go Olympians. Yup, and I miss the Outer Banks. Too fun.
