Pinewood Derby + some

Matt and I are in charge of all of the activities for our church. Basically, it's like being a party planner for a big group of people on a teeny tiny budget. I won't let small budget stop me from decorating, though, so this is what I came up with for our last activity -- a Pinewood Derby. We made a Pit Stop Candy Shop and had little race track snacks in the kitchen. I think people had fun, which is the most important. A big thanks to my mom and my sister who listened to me talk about it ad nauseum.

Matt getting ready for the festivities. He made this Xcel spreadsheet to rank all of the cars (projected in the back) -- he's been geeking out for the past week making sure it would work.
My candy shop... Some of the cuteness may have been lost on the Ward Party crowd; by the end the end the bowls were all over and the table cloth disheveled. I'm probably the only person who cared.
Some of the cars -- there were some really amazing ones!
And my parents came for a very quick visit over Easter weekend. My dad loves, LOVES babies and he even gave Tate a bath, read to him, and changed a few diapers.
I think we were trying to make Tate do something here, but I don't remember what.
I really love little Tate sleeping. Oh, did I tell you what a champ he is? I put him in the Relief Society room in a Pack and Play during the Pinewood Derby and he slept the ENTIRE TIME. I heart Tate.

We are SAD we missed it! It looked awesome, and although I couldn't appreciate it in person, I DO care about the table cloths and candy pit-stop. That's two of us? :)
