For your cringing pleasure:
Moral of the story: I've got too many projects going on.
Lesson learned: Mmmm, nothing.
So, here's my real dilemma: Matt is Taiwan. He would never have to know that I hired a cleaning lady to help me out with this (read: fix this entirely). I could totally slip this one under the budget radar with a little finagling. He would never know and for someone else to deal with my life/house problems, would be really great. Never mind that we've got a zillion dollars in student loans, with only one of us making a mockery of what is called a "salary." A cleaning lady would make me feel happy. While I don't usually encourage keeping secret from people (person) we're married to, I'm thinking about breaking my rule. Is that bad? Nah.
Fine. I won't call a cleaning lady. But I am not dealing with this right now. I don't want to. I encourage all perfectionists out there to leave the mess for later. It is very liberating and probably does wonders for your skin. Or something.
In other news:
1. My sister had her baby! Yay!
2. Matt has an internship in Chicago for the summer! Yay! (That's a real big yay; we feel very blessed.)
3. My baby nephew turns one on Sunday and I'm making a cake. Yay!
4. My house needs to be cleaned tomorrow. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I love this post Lis! Hooray for all of your good news! I'm so glad that Matt has an internship in Chicago this summer. Let's celebrate soon. This afternoon maybe? :)
this is a great post.
So are you moving to Chicago?? Or having a long-distance relationship? or what's up- fill me in!
Love the mess. I recently posted one similar- check it out- I think I titled it "What Does Your Dining Room Look Like?" I think in March sometime- LOL
Hey! It has been so long. I love this post b/c mostly people just post about the good things in life. So we're moving to Omaha in July. I'm sure we'll be taking a Chicago trip real soon. We'll for sure have to meet up.
All of that is great news, and I love that your house looks almost as bad as mine does right now. Congrats to Matt on the iternship!
wait until you have kids . . . i don't know how our mothers kept such clean and organized homes! congrats to you on your new niece and happy belated anniversary!
I quite often think about taking these pictures, just so I can have the before and after, but I'm glad I haven't because my after never looks as good as I'd like.
i'm shocked... you were always so spotless - at least when i came to vteach.
i'll take a cleaning lady... and i think you messed it up just for hte picture
I would have fully supported a cleaning lady and I definitely support leaving a mess! I feel liberated just seeing the pictures!
