Keepin It Real

Feel free to feel embarrassed for me. It is Friday night and I've got a lot going on this weekend. I was wasting time and feeling tired, when I looked up and looked at my teeny house. I feel that no life is perfect and thus I should document imperfection. This will make my mom cringe and think to herself, Have I taught her nothing? Don't worry, Mom, I'm cringing too.

For your cringing pleasure:

Moral of the story: I've got too many projects going on.
Lesson learned: Mmmm, nothing.

So, here's my real dilemma: Matt is Taiwan. He would never have to know that I hired a cleaning lady to help me out with this (read: fix this entirely). I could totally slip this one under the budget radar with a little finagling. He would never know and for someone else to deal with my life/house problems, would be really great. Never mind that we've got a zillion dollars in student loans, with only one of us making a mockery of what is called a "salary." A cleaning lady would make me feel happy. While I don't usually encourage keeping secret from people (person) we're married to, I'm thinking about breaking my rule. Is that bad? Nah.

Fine. I won't call a cleaning lady. But I am not dealing with this right now. I don't want to. I encourage all perfectionists out there to leave the mess for later. It is very liberating and probably does wonders for your skin. Or something.

In other news:
1. My sister had her baby! Yay!
2. Matt has an internship in Chicago for the summer! Yay! (That's a real big yay; we feel very blessed.)
3. My baby nephew turns one on Sunday and I'm making a cake. Yay!
4. My house needs to be cleaned tomorrow. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Hey! It has been so long. I love this post b/c mostly people just post about the good things in life. So we're moving to Omaha in July. I'm sure we'll be taking a Chicago trip real soon. We'll for sure have to meet up.

I quite often think about taking these pictures, just so I can have the before and after, but I'm glad I haven't because my after never looks as good as I'd like.

I would have fully supported a cleaning lady and I definitely support leaving a mess! I feel liberated just seeing the pictures!
