How the Other Half Lives -- in Chicago

In 1890, Jacob Riis wrote a book, How the Other Half Lives, about lives in tenements during/after the American Industrial Revolution. This picture is from the book and looks very sad:

Matt and I recently got to experience how the *other* other half lives. My fancy bro-in-law, who has a business conference at the new Trump Tower, got us a night there for a big sleepover at the swanky hotel. This is somewhat different than the picture above.

We figured that if we were staying in the Trump, we might as well act like we could afford it and celebrate in style. To celebrate my Matt's b-day, Summer got us Ghirardelli brownies and cookies, ice cream, and milk to wash it down. Showing our high society, we drank our milk using the only "cups" available in the room: martini glasses, wine glasses, and champagne glasses. Don't we look natural?

What a ridiculous picture. We kept trying to figure out how to hold the stupid glasses and often announed, "I think this is how they do it." I felt like we were the little kids at the grown-ups table.

And here is a cute picture of me, Summer, and her Matt doing the architecture cruise. My Matt was at school, as usual.

I can't believe Trump Tower is done and I haven't yet seen it finished! I need swanky relatives with hook-ups... mexico, trump tower, etc.
